CRPF Jawans honoured for honesty

JAMMU, July 19: The Inspector General (IG) of CRPF Jammu Sector AV Chauhan today honoured two Jawans of the Force for their honesty and commitment towards responsibilities.
On July 16, Constable Pradeep Chandra of 137 Battalion CRPF, who was deployed for security duty of Amarnath pilgrims, found a bag lying on road side. After initial checking, it became clear that the bag belonged to some pilgrim. The constable kept the bag safely in concerned police station.
In the meantime, when a batch of pilgrims reached Shaitani Nallah, a group of Sadhus informed the CRPF troops of 42 Battalion CRPF deployed there that a Sadhu namely Rameshwar B of Mirzapur (Bihar) has lost his bag somewhere enroute.
As by that time, the information about the bag found by Constable Pradeep Chandra was communicated to all troops deployed enroute, the arrangement was made immediately by CRPF and the bag was sent to the troops of 42 Battalion CRPF, deployed near Shaitani Nallah. The bag was safely handed over by havildar M Shriniwas to Sadhu Rameshwar B.
While appreciating the act of both the CRPF personnel, the IG CRPF Jammu Sector during a function organized at its Bantalab headquarter, honoured them with mementoes. On this occasion, the IG said that CRPF has always been committed towards its responsibilities. He said that such deeds strengthen the confidence and trust of people on the Force.
During the program, Sarabjit Singh DIG, Joginder Singh DIG, Sanjeev Kumar Commandant, CRPF Jammu Sector Headquarter, Ashish Kumar Jha Commandant 166 Bn CRPF and Mukhtiyar Singh 2-I/C CRPF, Jammu Sector Headquarter were also present.
