JAMMU, July 30: A cop of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was killed today in a road accident in Bantalab area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, a CRPF cop identified as Ashwani Kumar (38) son of Sain Dass, a resident of Tradiyan in Vijaypur area of Samba district, who was going on its bike bearing registration number JK02BD-0603, was hit by a car bearing registration number JK14-3850, on Bantalab-Barnai link road, this morning.
In serious condition he was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors. The cop was presently attached with 160 Battalion, CRPF, Bantalab.
After conducting postmortem, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites. A case in this connection has been registered at concerned police station and further investigations are on.
