KISHTWAR, Nov 23: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan allegedly committed suicide here today, officials said.
They said Constable Mansh Ranjan Dass son of Harihar Dass of Alagar Kakatpur, Odisha, presently posted with CRPF 52 Battalion, was found hanging in his room at Battalion Headquarters, PDC Colony, Kishtwar, this morning.
Soon after getting information, a police team reached at the spot and shifted the body of the deceased constable to District Hospital for conducting the post-mortem examination.
After completing the legal formalities, the body was later sent to the native place of the deceased jawan.
Meanwhile, police in Kishtwar have initiated inquest proceedings under CrPC 174 to further probe the matter.
