Crowds at Wagha ceremony get aggressive; BSF, Pak rangers hold flag meet

NEW DELHI: Amid reports of crowds coming to witness the daily Wagha-Attari beating retreat ceremony getting increasingly aggressive in the wake of surgical strikes, the commanders of Border Security Force and the Pakistan Rangers today held a flag meeting for better crowd control management.

The BSF spokesperson told reporters that a meeting was held between the two sides as aggressive mood of the crowd, specially on the Pakistani side, was witnessed. He denied a report which said that stones were hurled from the Pakistani side during today’s beating retreat ceremony.

“The mood of crowd on other side was aggressive and they were raising slogans with crowd from this side, responding with equal ferocity,” he said.  Around 350 people from this side and over 1,000 on the other side were present to witness the high voltage ceremony.  (AGENCIES)
