JAMMU, Sept 19: Government today filed criminal complaint under Section 499/500 RPC read with Section 198-B of CrPC in the Court of Principal Sessions Judge, Jammu against Abdul Gani Vakil, former Minister, for allegedly leveling allegations against Taj Mohi-ud-Din, Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control.
In the complaint filed through Public Prosecutor Ch Mohd Shabir, it has been submitted that on January 22, 2012, while addressing a public meeting at Samba, Abdul Gani Vakil leveled false, malicious and defamatory allegations of corruption against Taj Mohi-ud-Din.
On January 23, 2012, the respondent issued a press statement which was carried by the different newspapers wherein he with bad intention leveled wild, frivolous, malicious and concocted allegations of illegal appointments in PHE Department and abandoning of mega projects including development of Tawi front and barrage on Tawi.
“The allegations were without any substance and leveled with the objective to malign and to lower the reputation of Taj Mohi-ud-Din”, the Public Prosecutor said.
