Criminal arrested with country made pistol, 4 live cartridges

JAMMU, Sept 13: Police foiled a murder plot with the arrest of a criminal along with a country made pistol and live cartridges.
As per police sources, based on reliable information, a police team led by SDPO South Mohammad Rafiq Manhas and assisted by SHO Gangyal SI Nayat Ali and Incharge Greater Kailash Police Post SI Vijay Sharma under the supervision of SP South Sandeep Chaudhary raised a surprise checking point at Kunjwani Chowk and intercepted a pedestrian, who was moving under suspicious grounds.
Head Constable Maqsood Ahmed, SgCt Babu Lal, SgCt Joginder Singh and SPO Sohan Lal were also part of the police team.
During checking, police recovered a country made pistol along with 4 live cartridges from the possession of the man and arrested him.
The accused has been identified as Surinder Singh alias Sindha, son of Jaswant Singh, a resident of Digiana Camp.
Through preliminary investigation it came to fore that the accused was on its way to eliminate his rivals Vikramjeet Singh, son of Mohan Singh of Sehora Gangyal, Gagandeep Singh alias Chatru, son of Inderjeet Singh alias Banjara of Digiana Camp. The accused revealed that he is associated with Harjot Singh alias Anda, son of Jaswant Singh of Digiana Camp.
To dodge the police the accused tried to cross the police checking point on foot, but his nefarious designs were foiled by the cops.
A case under FIR Number 68/17 under Section 3/25 Arms Act has been registered against the accused at Gangyal Police Station and investigation started.
