JAMMU, Nov 16: An alleged notorious fraudster, Rajan Bakshi son of Prem Bakhshi of Channi was here today arrested by Crime Branch.
A case U/S 420, 467, 468, 471 and 120-B RPC stands registered against him.
The fraudster had cheated one Renu Bala of Lower Muthi in a land deal.
On receipt of the complaint Crime Branch Jammu conducted an enquiry and established that Rajan and his wife Rupinder cheated Renu Rs 18 lakh in a land deal at village Gazian R.S Pura.
The verification further revealed that the accused are habitual cheaters and have lured many other innocent people under the pretext of selling land.
Accordingly a formal case was registered with Crime Branch Jammu against the accused persons and investigations were started.
The accused was evading his arrest and today he was arrested and lodged in police lock-up.
