Cricket tourney in memory of Uri martyrs from Oct 15

REASI, Oct 8: Reasi Cricket Club (RCC) in collaboration with 61 RR Talwara is organizing a cricket tournament in the memory of soldiers, who attained martyrdom in Uri during terrorist attack, from October 15 at sports stadium, here.
This was stated by Nadeem Bhat, Chairman, RCC and Convener, Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association during the press conference here today. He was accompanied by Commanding Officer (CO) of 61 RR Talwara.
Bhat further stated that teams from Jammu Province will participate in the tournament, adding that attractive prizes including cash prizes, trophies, certificated of merits will be given to the winner team, runner-up team, outstanding players, man of match in every match, best batsman, best bowler, best fielder, best catcher, etc.
“The most important aspect of the tournament will be that the monitory collections from the participating teams and sponsors will be given to the families of the martyr soldiers as a mark of respect”, Bhat maintained.
He said that the participating teams will bear to and fro expenditures of their own, adding that the first match of the tournament will be played between SSP-XI and DC-XI on October 15 at 10 am.
