Srinagar, Mar 29: Apni Party president Altaf Bukhari on Wednesday agreed that peace is prevailing in Jammu and Kashmir after the revocation of Article 370.
“I agree that peace has prevailed to a great extent and for that people deserve 80 percent credit and 20 percent credit goes to the administration who did not kill any innocent person as happened in the past,” Bukhari told reporters in Srinagar.
Regarding elections he said the central Government is delaying the elections in Jammu and Kashmir from 2018 but that does not mean the political parties will not go to the people and try to address their genuine demands.
He said the motive of the Apni Party is to highlight the main issues of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and whenever elections are held we are ready to go to the people again.
Regarding the disqualification of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, he said “we are sitting in our homes as disqualified since 2018,” adding “we are not being given the right to vote without disqualification.”
Bukhari said that the main goal of his party is to create a conducive environment in Jammu and Kashmir so that the people can live a peaceful, dignified and prosperous life. “I am trying to ensure a peaceful, dignified and prosperous life for the people of Kashmir”, he added. (Agencies)
