ANANTNAG, May 20: Minister for Revenue, Relief & Rehabilitation, Abdul Rehman Veeri, today said that Government is committed for creation of assets of public importance on priority basis.
He was speaking to people and officials during a day-long tour of Anantnag district to review the pace of work on various developmental projects.
Veeri inspected the ongoing work at Trauma Hospital Bijbehara and reviewed the progress achieved so far. He fixed November as the deadline for the completion of this vital project aimed to minimising deaths occurring due to road mishaps.
The Minister also reviewed the status of Shopping Arcade being constructed in Bijbehara at a cost of Rs 4.76 crore. The officers informed the Minister that the project will be completed by August.
To augment the road network in Anantnag district, the Minister directed the engineers to speed up the process of macadamization in the district particularly in Marhama and Srigufwara area.
The Minister also visited ANM Nursing College Akoora which is coming up at a cost of Rs 2.30 crores and under construction building of PHC Akoora. The Minister directed the officials to complete the Nursing College by August 20, 2017.
Veeri also sought details on the status of work on PHC Veer, PHC Khiram, PHC Marhama and other works of public importance in the area.
The Minister also visited Mattan Hospital and enquired about the various healthcare facilities available in the hospital. He directed the engineers to start macadamization of roads in hospital premises at the earliest. The Minister also visited the proposed site of Tehsil Office Mattan and asked the officers to fix up the modalities for its speedy construction.
