Crack down on illegal mining; 12 vehicles seized

JAMMU, Jan 18: In a concerted operation against illegal mining, police teams in the south zone of Jammu district seized 12 vehicles loaded with sand and bajri that were operating without proper documentation.
Under the supervision of Inspector Jai Paul Singh, Satwari Police Station detained eight dumpers loaded with sand during raids conducted at multiple locations. Similarly, the Belicharana Police Post, led by PSI Rajesh Singh, seized two dumpers. Meanwhile, the Nehru Market and Greater Kailash Police Posts each confiscated one truck loaded with sand and bajri.
In total, 10 vehicles were seized within the jurisdiction of Satwari Police Station, while one vehicle each was confiscated in the areas falling under the Gandhinagar and Gangyal Police Stations.
Following the operation, the District Mining Officer was promptly informed to initiate necessary legal proceedings.
