CPPWU calls on Managing Director CVPP

JAMMU, Apr 24: A deputation of Chinar Power Projects Workers Union District Kishtwar led by its Chairman Joginder Bhandari today called upon the Managing Director Chenab Valley Power Projects (Pvt) Limited and discussed various demands.
The union put forth its demands which included that all appointments  made in the recent past in Pakal Dul, Keeru and Kawar hydroelectric projects from outside the State should be revoked forthwith and local deserving youths of the district should be absorbed on top priority basis.
Joginder Bhandari demanded that one member of each family whose land has come under the alignment of these projects should be given permanent employment in CVPP on the analogy of NHPC and JKSPDC  enshrined under Reconstruction & Resettlement Plan of NRRP 2007.
He also urged the managing director to issue directions to the executing companies of Pakal Dul hydroelectric project to appoint skilled, semi skilled and un- skilled workmen in the project, as there are hundreds of experienced manpower available in the district having worked in various hydroelectric projects.
The Director gave patient hearing to the deputation and assured that all possible efforts will be made to accommodate the local unemployed youths of the district on priority basis.
Those who accompanied the deputation included Anil Sharma,  Javed Sheikh, Sameer Butt, Ashraf Gannie, Irshad Ahmed, Rinku Tendulkar, Sajjad Sheikh, Ajay Sharma, S Satpal Singh, Akhter Hussain etc.
