COVID testing of school students initiated by Mobile Health team

JAMMU, Mar 5: The Mobile team of Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Jammu Dr JP Singh today initiated sampling of school students for RTPCR based COVID testing.
The team today visited Sainik School Nagorta and took swab samples of 122 students of class 10th and 12th which were called by the school authorities recently so that their routine classes can be started. All the 122 students were quarantined by the school authorities in the hostel.
CMO Jammu, Dr JP Singh informed that all the samples taken were sent for testing in Government Medical College, Jammu. He said the mobile team of the Department on regular basis visit different places and offices and take samples for RTPCR testing of COVID. “It is first time that out Mobile team visited any school for sampling of COVID testing,” he said, adding, the team visited the school on special request from the school authorities.
He said his office is receiving similar requests from other reputed schools also including Jodhamal School and the Mobile team will soon visit these schools to take samples of students as well as staff members so that spread of COVID-19 can be controlled among the school students.
