JAMMU, July 26: Fomer Minister Thakur Gulchain Singh Charak and chairman of Dogra Sahayata Kendra (DSK) today handed over the COVID kits containing masks, sanitizer, soaps and a pamphlet to the members of the Bari Brahmana unit of DSK for distributing among the people of the area.
The kits were handed over to Chhankar Singh, Jagdeep Singh and Sarpanch Madhu Charak by the DSK chairman and asked them to create awareness regarding COVID-19 protocols among people.
Further members of the unit were also advised to encourage the people of their area for availing the facilities being provided by the UT Administration and Dogra Sahayata Kendra. “Anybody noting symptoms about the COVID-19 should immediately contact the helpline numbers and get immediate attention of the Administration for help for getting the proper medical help and treatment,” chairman of the DSK advised to members.
Former Minister said that the report from the sub unit of the Samba District revealed that the COVID Care Centres opened in various Panchayats especially in the remote areas were not properly manned by trained staff and many of them had no arrangements for providing oxygen to patients.
He urged the Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha to direct the concerned Authorities to equip the COVID Care Centres in all Panchayats with adequately oxygen facilities and trained staff to meet any eventuality. Charak further informed the members about the Ambulance service being provided by the DSK.
Col Karan Singh, SC Rekhi, Samar Dev Singh Charak, Deepak Gupta, Prithvi Raj Vaid, Pandit Ashwani Kumar and Suresh Sharma were present during the event.
