BARAMULLA, May 7: Sultanpur Kandi Army Camp of Uplona Rashtriya Rifles Battalion today conducted a COVID-19 awareness programme for the people of Kandi region of Baramulla district under the aegis of Haiderbeg Sector Headquarters.
The initiative was aimed at educating the villagers of the remote region on Coronavirus symptoms and protective measures so as to stem the tide of 2nd wave of the pandemic and all the COVID protocols were followed during the programme.
“During the event, informative lectures were delivered by army doctor and local medical staff on common symptoms, preventive measures and management of infected patients,” the organizers said.
After lectures, a demonstration was also carried out depicting the correct way of washing hands and wearing masks.
At the end, masks, sanitizers and informative pamphlets were distributed.
A total of 40 village representatives of the area attended the awareness programme.
