Srinagar, June 20: A local court today directed the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Srinagar to file its report regarding a complaint filed against former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for being allegedly responsible for the killings in 2010 unrest.
In a complaint filed through Advocate M S Reshi, Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Srinagar, V S Bhou, today directed the SSP Srinagar to file its report before the court by or before July 20 without any fail.
Court earlier had directed the SSP Srinagar to find out whether the allegation in the complaint against former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and the then SSP Srinagar, Ashiq Hussain Bukhari are true or not and submit its report before the court in this connection.
Failing to comply with the court direction and not filing the report as directed since March 2015, Court today directed the SSP to submit the report without any fail.
The complainant alleged that the killings took place in the year 2008, 2009 and more particularly in 2010 and thereafter during the former Chief Minister’s Government should have been investigated so that the truth about the killers could have been brought to the fore.
“Allegations made in the complaint are serious in nature and requires to be proved in order to arrive at conclusion about the truthfulness or otherwise of the same”, court had observed in its order before taking congnizance in the complaint and had postponed the issue of process for compelling the attendance of the persons complained and had directed the SSP Srinagar to ascertain the facts which were taken in the complaint whether these allegation are true or not.
