Niki Tawi violence case

JAMMU, Jan 9: In the much-publicised Niki Tawi violence case, 2nd Additional District & Sessions Judge Jammu Virender Singh Bhou has sought details of encroachers from the Deputy Commissioner and others.
When the case came up for hearing, Ramesh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Tejinder Singh, SSP Jammu, Pawan Singh Rathore, Vice Chairman, Jammu Development Authority and Pankaj Magotra, Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation, appeared before the court in compliance to the order dated January 7, 2019.
2nd Additional District & Sessions Judge felt it necessary to seek details from Deputy Commissioner, Vice Chairman JDA and Conservator of Forests, Jammu Circle regarding details of encroachers, the extent of encroachments made by them and dimensions of constructions raised on encroached land, if any, by the encroachers in a tabular form with remarks indicating lapse in execution of court orders by any officer/officials involved in implementation of court orders from time to time till the order dated 22.12.2018 was passed.
Chief Engineer PDD and Chief Engineer PHE were directed to furnish details of illegal electric and water connections provided to illegal occupants and follow up action taken by them. The SSP Jammu was also directed to furnish details of the follow up action pursuant to court orders issued from time to and pin point lapse, if any, on the part of any officer at the relevant time.
“The SSP shall also furnish more specifically the details of deployment of the force provided to JDA and other allied agencies for implementing the last court order”, 2nd Additional District & Sessions Judge said, adding “it is also deemed expedient to seek details from SSP CID (SB), Jammu about the Government/police employees, who have settled illegally in these localities and have established their structures/houses illegally on JDA/State/Forest land”.
Chief Engineer PWD was also directed to furnish details regarding macadamized pacca road, which has been constructed right from 4thTawi bridge reaching up to Beli Charana and onward, whether the same has sanction/approval of the competent authority or not in accordance with law.
