JAMMU, Oct 26: Principal Sessions Judge Kathua Vinod Chatterji Koul today rejected the bail application of Sohan Singh, son of Samunder Singh of Kathua, who was allegedly involved in murder case.
After hearing both the sides, court observed, “the grounds put forth by the petitioner/accused does not appear to be sufficient in any case to exercise the discretion in his favour”, adding “the petitioner/accused has been charged for the commission of offence punishable under Section 302 RPC, which carries punishment of death sentence or life imprisonment”.
“An accused cannot admitted to bail in the case, where he is facing the charge for commission of offence which carries punishment of death or imprisonment for life.  There is sufficient evidence on record to prima facie show that the petitioner/accused has committed the offence punishable under Section 302 RPC”, court said while rejecting the bail application.
