Srinagar, Mar 20: A local court today issued a notice to a Facebook admin in a defamation plea filed by a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) for allegedly circulating “malafide videos” against it.
In an order, the court of Munsiff/Sub Registrar Srinagar Adnan Manzoor Naqashbandi, restrained the admin Mudasir Bashir, alias Mudasir Aziz, from ‘interfering with the affairs of the NGO “Smile Foundation” or uploading any video related to the organization.’
The court also directed the admin to remove all the related content to the case in hand from his Facebook pages.
The admin has also been asked by the court to respond to the notice by the next date of hearing on March 26.
According to the plea, Mudasir has been “managing” multiple Facebook pages with the names ‘Kashmir Youth Power’, ‘News Express’, ‘Mission Kashmir’ and Mudasir Aziz’ and “masquerading as a journalist to defame people and settle personal grudges”.
