Court extends judicial custody of 5 alleged AQIS operatives

NEW DELHI: The judicial custody of five suspected operatives of Al-Qaida in Indian Subcontinent (AQIS), arrested for allegedly radicalising youths and propagating terror agenda of outfit, was today extended till June 10 by a Delhi court.

Additional Sessions Judge Reetesh Singh extended the custody of the five accused — Syed Anzar Shah , Abdul Sami, Mohd Asif, Maulana Mohd Abdul Rehman Kasmi and Zafar Masood — after they were produced before the court.

In its application, the Special Cell of Delhi Police told the court that they be remanded to judicial custody as the probe in the case was underway.

All the accused have been booked under the provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. (AGENCIES)
