Srinagar, Feb 2: Principal Sessions Judge Bandipora today rejected the bail application of four persons involved in trafficking of Rohingiya women.
Principal Sessions Judge Bandipora Amit Sharma refused to grant bail to accused- Nazir Ahmad Chopan of Hajin District Bandipora,  Fayaz Ahmad Parray of Sumbal District Bandipora, Reyaz Ahmad Bhat of Qamarwari Srinagar and Abdul Qayoom Khan of Noorbagh Srinagar.
All the four accused were seeking bail in FIR No 116 of 2023 registered with the Police Station Hajin, for committing of offences Under Sections 370, 109 of IPC and these offences are Scheduled Offence under National Investigation Agency Act, 2008 and are exclusively triable by Special Court which is empowered to take cognizance without the accused being committed to it for trial.
Sessions Judge while rejecting bail of four persons observed that it is pathetic to state that the present case involves the sale and purchase of Rohingiya women in the modern society of digital world whereby these innocent girls illegally transported from one part of the country and taken to another part of the country for subsequent selling.
“In the present case the victim offered for sale against consideration amount of Rs. 2,25,000 clearly demonstrate the conduct of these individuals that they have fixed the price of these innocent girls only to satisfy their lust for money. On the other hand to whom these girls have been sold they exploited these girls to such an extent that these victim become their slaves and having no personal wish and rights”, court said.
Court said the rights which are available to the sisters and daughters of these accused persons are equally available to these victim-girls and their only fault that they because of their poverty as well as because of being forcibly or tactfully kidnapped from their family routes are taken away to the place of an unknown country and place where they are totally alien to the language, society as well as custom.
