UDHAMPUR, Sept 5: A couple was injured after an attack by a wild bear in Panchayat Kultyarn in Panchari Tehsil today morning.
Reports said the victim, identified as Kaka Ram (36), son of Bansi Lal resident of village Prey and his wife Pooja Devi (34) were attacked by bear when they were engaged in some work in front of their house.
Wife became first victim while working in the open compound. Hearing her screams, her husband Kaka Ram rushed towards her. He too was attacked. Hearing their voice, ther neighbours also came to rescue them with lathis but by then noth of them had been badly injured. The bear ecaped towards nearby forest.
The injured couple was shifted to PHC Pancheri, where doctors referred them to District Hospital Udhampur.
