JAMMU, Mar 30: A couple today allegedly committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance in Janipur area of city outskirts.
“Shahsi Lal Khanna (56) son of late Mool Raj and his wife namely Kiran Khanna (54), were found dead this morning at their rented accommodation in Janipur area”, a police official said.
He said prima facie it appears that the couple has committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substances, as they were immensely under the grip of debt and even facing difficulty to make their both ends meet.
“After conducting postmortem at Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, the bodies of the deceased couple were handed over to their legal heirs for last rites”, the official said, adding, inquest proceedings under 174 CrPC were initiated at police station Janipur in this connection.
