JAMMU, Aug 1: A couple was attacked with a sharp edged weapon by a thief in Trikuta Nagar area of city outskirts.
“The incident occurred today at about 1:30 AM when one unknown person entered in the house of one person namely Umesh Kumar (38) son of Sadhu Ram, resident of Florian, U P (at present living in Extension Trikuta Nagar, Jammu), with an intention to make theft,” a police official said.
He said hearing some sounds, the owner of the house woke up and tried to catch the thief but the latter attacked him and his wife Saroj (36) with knife and fled away from the spot. “In the attack, Umesh received serious injuries while his wife got minor injuries,” he added.
The official said that the couple was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for medical treatment while a case FIR Number 189/2020 U/S 457/380/511/323 IPC 4/25 Arms Act was registered in this connection at police station Bahu Fort and investigation started.
