JAMMU, Nov 1: Nagrota police worked out a thief case within couple of hours with the arrest of a couple along with stolen items.
As per police sources, today morning a complaint was lodged by Bihari Lal Raina, son of Maheshwar Nath Raina of Jagti Colony with Police Station Nagrota stating that during the intervening night of October 31 and November 1, 2019, some unknown person(s) entered into his shop situated at Jagti Township and decamped with karyana/grocery items and cash.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 412/19 under Sections 457 and 380 IPC was registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation initiated.
In order to work out the case on merits, SDPO Nagrota Mohan Sharma constituted a special team headed by SHO Nagrota Inspector Mohammad Showket.
The team during investigation, rounded up number of suspects, examined witnesses and developed leads. Based on leads, the team arrested a couple identified as Jawahar Pandita, son of late Som Nath Pandita of Lane Number 25, Jagti, Nagrota and his wife Santosh Pandita.
The couple during questioning confessed their involvement in this theft case.
On their disclosure, stolen items and cash valuing Rs 75,000 approximately were recovered.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
