RS PURA, Apr 2: Former Minister and Congress candidate from Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary seat Raman Bhalla today held series of election meetings in R S Pura and Suchetgarh constituency where he predicted that countdown of BJP had started in the country.
While addressing the election meetings, Bhalla alleged that BJP totally ignored the border people and farmers of Jammu region who were left to suffer badly. He targeted BJP regime for the situation along the borders in J&K and said that ceasefire violations have increased during Modi rule. He alleged that border villagers and the farmers were the worst victims of the policies of BJP Government.
Bhalla lamented that the West Pakistan refugees, DPs of 1947, 65 and 71 were also ignored. “The Cong had approved Rs 25 lakh package per family but BJP provided just Rs 5.30 lakh. Pace of disbursement of the package was very slow. Hardly a little amount could be disbursed against Rs 9000 cr sanctioned by the Centre so far by the officials concerned,” he added.
Stating that people of the State want change, Raman Bhalla said that the recent elections in Rajasthan, MP and Chhatisgarh have set the trend in this regard and J&K would also witness a change this time.
Bhalla alleged that BJP got power by exploiting the sentiments of people on the name of two crore jobs every year, Article 370, 35-A, Hindu CM, Rs 15 lakh in every account, bringing back black money from Swiss Banks etc. “But they failed on every front. They worked on the agenda of division and rule by polarizing the society on the name of caste, creed and religion,” he said adding that the public was now disillusioned by the BJP and wanted change.
He urged people to join Congress so that the State may be brought back to the track of overall development. He asked the workers to get ready to work day and night to ensure his win as his victory from Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha constituency will be a surety that now their grievances will be finally addressed.
Earlier Raman Bhalla was given rousing welcome at Miran Sahib, Tali Morh, Simbal Morh, Kullian, Dablehar, Darsopur, Plaser, Kalyana, Biaspur, Parlah, Agra Chak.
