Councillors claim solution for frauds in land dealings

JAMMU, Nov 8: Some Councillors of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) have claimed that they have solved the problem of victimization of gullible land buyers in the hands of cheats.
In a press conference here today Rajinder Sharma, Chairman House Committee for Formulation of Building Schemes and Plans for Jammu City met the DC Jammu few days back and put forward a solution to safeguard gullible land buyers from frauds.
“As per earlier practice Patwaris used to cut two Fards, one for the buyer of land/property and another himself,” Rajinder Sharma said.

He informed that the Patwaris concerned however rarely entered that Fard details in their revenue records due to which other Patwaris never knew that the particular piece of land was already sold and in this way innocent land buyers were cheated.
Sharma informed that in his proposal he informed the DC that the Patwaris should now cut four Fards with similar serial number and the additional two Fards for ACR and Judicial Section-one each.
“This will leave no room for wrong elements in the system to cheat innocent people,” Rajinder Sharma said claiming that this new procedure has now been implemented.
Gorav Chopra, Sham Bessan, Pawan Singh, Pritam Singh, Amit Gupta and many more JMC Councillors were also present in the press conference.
