JAMMU, Mar 2: The unemployed youth belonging to the weaker sections of the society, who have set up their own earning units by availing financial assistance in the form of loan from Jammu and Kashmir Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes & Backward Classes Development Corporation, are giving employment to other unemployed youth including males and females.
This was claimed by Corporation Vice Chairperson, Balbir Ram Rattan, while inspecting a small unit of Cutting, Tailoring and Embroidery Work in Sidhra area run by one Prithvi Raj, a Scheduled Caste male from village Pargalta of Nagrota Block.
Balbir Ram said that there are a number of successful entrepreneurs who have started small units by availing loan from SC, ST, BC Development Corporation under Direct Financing and Bank Tie Up schemes have established themselves in the market. These people are not only earning their livelihood but providing employment to others, which is indeed a matter of pride for the Corporation as well.
Balbir further said that the Cutting, Tailoring and Embroidery Work unit at Sidhra started three years back with a loan of Rs two lakh from the Corporation, has turned out to be a successful unit, where the beneficiary, his wife and three others are earning their bread.
The Vice Chairperson stressed upon the beneficiary to educate unemployed males and females in their areas about the welfare schemes of the Corporation and motivate them to avail the benefits and become a self reliant and employer. He expressed hope that the units set up with loan, give employment to more poor, needy unemployed people.
