Coriander, jeera fall on subdued demand

NEW DELHI, Dec 12:  Coriander and jeera prices dropped by Rs 200 per quintal in the national capital today as demand from retailers and stockists eased amid sufficient stocks.
Besides, higher arrivals from producing areas put pressure on select spice prices.
Coriander prices were down Rs 200 to finish at Rs 10,800-15,800 per quintal.
Jeera common and jeera best quality also eased by Rs 200 each to conclude at Rs 15,300-15,800 and Rs 19,300-19,800 per quintal.
Marketmen said muted demand from retailers and stockists at higher levels against sufficient stocks, mainly pulled down coriander and jeera prices.
Following are today’s quotations (in Rs):
Ajwain (per kg) 150-190, black pepper (per kg) 740-910, betel-nut (kg) 300-350, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,470-1,480 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,570-1,900.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 590-715, cardamom (colour robin) 570-580, cardamom bold 590-600, cardamom extra (bold) 670-680 and cloves 525-660. (PTI)
