Cops rescue 319 bovines, register 26 FIRs

RAMBAN, Feb 2: Acting on specific inputs, cops from Police Stations Batote, Chanderkote, Ramban, Dharamkund, Gool, Banihal and Police Post Jawahar Tunnel intercepted 26 different vehicles which were on way from Jammu to Srinagar.
These vehicles were bearing registration numbers JK19 9759, JK02CW 0158, JK19 7138, JK03 D 2504, JK19 8061, JK19 9789, JK02 CX 9382, JK14 E 7094, JK19 A 1410, JK14 D 4248, JK02 AR 8377, JK14 B 8995, JK02 CU 1566, JK19 5950, JK08 F 2385, JK02 AT 3760, JK18 1226, JK02 AW 3019, JK02 CQ 2711, JK19 A 2993, JK18 1226, JK14 2904, JK03 L 8914, JK02 CR 6093 and JK02 CX 9382.
On checking these vehicles police found 319 bovine animals loaded with utmost cruelty and without any arrangements of food and water and these bovine animals were being transported to valley without any valid permission of the competent authority.
Cops rescued these bovine animals under operation Kamdhenu and registered FIRs with numbers-9, 12, 13, 14 and 15/2023 at Police Station Batote; 26, 28, 29, 30 and 31/2023 at Police Station Chanderkote; 20, 27, 28, 31, 32 and 33/2023 at Police Station Ramban; 3/2023 at Police Station Dharamkund; 9, 10 and 11/2023 registered at Police Station Gool and 18, 19, 21, 23, 26 and 27/2023 at Police Station Banihal under relevant sections of law. Investigations have been started in all these cases.
The overall rescue operation was made by cops under the command of Incharge Police Post Jawahar Tunnel, SHOs of Police Stations Chanderkote, Ramban, Batote, Gool, Dharamkund and Banihal under the supervision of Pardeep Singh Sen, Dy.SP Hqrs Ramban; Nissar Khoja, SDPO Banihal and Nisar Ranjan, SDPO Gool with overall supervision of SP Ramban, Mohita Sharma.
