Copper strengthens on increased industrial demand

NEW DELHI, Aug 23:  Copper prices strengthened by Rs 2 per kg at the local non-ferrous metals market today due to increased demand from consuming industries.
Traders said increased demand from consuming industries and report of a firming global trend mainly led to the rise in copper prices.
In the national capital, copper mixed scrap added Rs 2 to Rs 432 per kg.
Following are today’s metal rates (in Rs per kg):
Zinc ingot 112-118, Nickel plate (4×4) 1,093-1,099, Gun metal scrap 227, Bell metal scrap 229, Copper mixed scrap 432, Chadri deshi 285.
Lead ingot 109, Lead imported 107, Aluminium ingots 159, Aluminium sheet cutting 160, Aluminium wire scrap 162 and Aluminium utensils scrap 159. (PTI)
