Copper futures up on spot demand

NEW DELHI, July 25:  Amid pick up in spot demand, copper prices moved up by 0.95 per cent to Rs 394.30 per kg in futures trade today.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in August was trading higher by Rs 3.70, or 0.95 per cent, to Rs 394.30 per kg, in a business volume of 1,137 lots.
Metal for delivery in far-month November gained Rs 3.45, or 0.87 per cent, to Rs 400.35 per kg, in a business turnover of 33 lots.
Marketmen attributed the rise in copper futures to raising of bets by participants following a firming trend in select base metals at the domestic spot markets on pick up in demand from consuming industries. (PTI)
