RAJOURI, Mar 31: A Police constable and father of three minor daughters, was today arrested for allegedly kidnapping a young girl hailing from Bhati Dhar area in Thanna Mandi tehsil.
A police spokesman said that on the complaint of the parents of 20-year-old girl a case FIR No. 45/2013 was registered against the Constable Sajjad Hussain Shah, resident of Salwa in Mendhar. He was presently posted in Banihal. Earlier, he had been posted in Thana Mandi area for four years.
On the complaint of Mohd Aslam on March 29, father of the girl, SDPO Thana Mandi, constituted a team under the supervision of SHO Shaheen Zakir which conducted series of raids at different locations and managed to recover the girl during wee hours today from an isolated location in Sagra (Balnoi) area of Mendhar. The accused constable was arrested and the girl after conducting medical examination was handed over to the family.
