SRINAGAR, Jan 6: A constable in Jammu and Kashmir Police has been arrested in Anantnag, for cheating a civilian on pretext of providing him job as a follower in the Police.
An official said that Police Station Achabal received a complaint yesterday from Tasaduq Ahmad Sheikh, son of Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh, resident of Shehlipora Achabal that one person Umar Farooq son of Farooq Ahmad Ganie, of Tailwani Achabal, who is working as constable in Police and is posted in IRP 6Th Battalion has cheated him on the pretext of providing him a job of follower in Police and has extorted Rs 20,000 from him.
The accused person provided him with a fake appointment order. A case (FIR U/S 420,468,120-B IPC) was registered in Police Station Achabal and the cop was arrested. Investigation in the case is in process.
