RAMBAN, Oct 28: Two persons including a constable of Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) were killed, when the tipper they were traveling in, skidded off the road and plunged into gorge near Hewagan area on Magarkote-Neel Link Road.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK19-2734 was on its way to Neel from Makarkote loaded with stones, when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it plunged into gorge near Hewagan area on Magarkote-Neel Link Road, resulting into on the spot death of a constable of JKP and serious injuries to the driver.
The constable was going home on leave after taking lift in the tipper, but died just 2 kilometers before his house.
After getting information, police team from Ramsoo police station headed by SHO Mohammad Amin Malik retrieved the body of the constable and shifted the injured driver to Primary Health Centre (PHC) Ramsoo, where doctors declared him as brought dead.
The deceased have been identified as Sajad Ahmed Dang (police cop), son of Ghulam Nabi Dang, a resident of Dalnai, Ukhral and Hayat Ahmed (driver), son of Shamas Din Malik, a resident of Neel.
The bodies of the deceased were handed over to family members after completing medical and legal formalities.
A case in this regard has been registered at Ramsoo police station and investigation started.
