JAMMU, Sept 20: Additional Director General (Region) PIB and CBC J&K and Ladakh, Rajinder Chaudhry today said that coordination and cooperation among the Media Units of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB) based in J&K, J&K DIPR, DPR Defence and Central Government departments is the need of the hour for effective communication and publicity of the Government of India initiatives, policies and programs.
Chaudhry said this while chairing a meeting of the Inter-Media Publicity Coordination Committee (IMPCC) organized by Press Information Bureau, Jammu. In his address Chaudhry said, better media integration and synergy among the units is significant in achieving the better media coverage. He emphasized that publicity should not be seen as an event based activity but has to be a sustained ongoing process.
The ADG further emphasized that the activities of the Media Units and Central Government departments must be shared well in advance so that a good coverage is given to the events through proper planning using the best available resources. He asked the participating departments to also utilize social media platforms for quick, fast and accurate delivery of the information and achievements in a professional manner.
Deputy Director, Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), J&K and Ladakh, Ayushi Puri provided an overview about main activities of CBC in J&K. She emphasized, the cooperation is inevitable between the departments in giving meaningful information so as to develop good developmental stories.
Assistant Director, Doordarshan, Jammu, Vivek Pathak provided the details of the activities of DD News in Jammu Division and Media & Communication Officer, PIB Jammu, Sheikh Mudasir Amin provided an overview of the activities of PIB in Jammu Region.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Brig A Sridhar, BGS (IW), HQ Northern Command, Lt Colonel Rohan Mahajan, GSO-1 (Media), HQ Northern Command, Lt Col Suneel Bartwal, PRO Defence Jammu, Ravikanta Babu, DDG (E), Doordarshan/AIR, Prof Anil Soumitra, Regional Director, IIMC Jammu, Pankaj Rastogi, Regional Director, NBWED, Dr Nasir-ul-Rashid, Senior Scientist IIIM-CSIR Jammu, Sunil Kumar, Deputy Director, DIPR Jammu, Rakesh Kumar, Program Head AIR Kathua and Pawan Khajuria, PEX AIR Jammu.
The IMPCC was also attended by the students of Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Jammu.
