SRINAGAR, Aug 24: In continuation with the efforts of making maximum use of left over season of macadamization, Minister for Public Works and Parliamentary Affairs, Abdul Rehman Veeri today chaired a joint meeting of engineers and contractors here.
Commissioner Secretary, R&B, Rohit Kansal, Chief Engineer R&B, Kashmir, Satish Kumar Razdan, Chief Engineer R&B Jammu, Chief Engineer PMGSY Kashmir, Development Commissioner Works, Superintending Engineers of R&B and PMGSY of Kashmir districts were present in the meeting.
Public Works Minister asked engineers and hot mix plant owners to cooperate for optimal usage of leftover macadamization season for the benefit of the public.
The Minister asked the officers that Kashmir cannot afford to lose the whole macadamization season and it is the collective responsibly of all the stake holders to continue macadamization process as long as the temperature is favorable.
He directed the officers and hot mix plant owners to identify the places where they can start the macadamization process as soon as possible.
The Minister impressed upon the engineers and hot mix plant owners that development is the cornerstone of the Government and all efforts will be made to take it to the grass root level.
The hot mix plant owners informed the Minister that they are already in touch with quarry, tipper, crusher unions and they too are eager to be part of macadamization process.
The Minister asked the participants to take people into confidence at the construction sites and wherever possible involve them too in the process for their maximum benefit.
