JAMMU, Feb 16: Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) has expressed serious concern over the negligent attitude of the State Government towards labour problems and demanded it to call Labour Advisory Board (LAB) meeting to discuss their problems.
In a meeting of the BMS held here today under the chairmanship of its State president, Karnail Chand, the office bearers strongly criticized the functioning of Building and Construction Welfare Board for changing the procedural formalities of registration of Building and Construction workers and making them complex.
The meeting alleged that due to shortage of manpower at registration office in Rajouri district the workers are facing hardships. Moreover, the incharge officer is not fair with his job, the speakers said.
Maintaining that the present Board has failed to protect the interest of the workers, the Sangh demanded the Government to reconstitute the Board.
The Committee members of BMS also highlighted other demands of the labourers like implementation of minimum wages properly, ceasing trend of 12 hours duty with less wages, implementation of ESI and EPF scheme and introduction of pension scheme.
