Contractual Lecturers demand continuation, regularization

JAMMU, Sept 2: All J&K 10+2 Contractual Lecturers Forum held a protest demonstration under the leadership of State President Pankaj Sharma demanding continuation and regularization of the Contractual Lecturers.
Claiming that the Union Government has provided financial aid in the Budget 2020-21 to resolve the matter, the Forum alleged that J&K Administration was delaying this process without any reason by silly and lame excuses and playing with the future of highly educated fraternity which is totally unjustifiable and intolerable.
Pankaj Sharma said that Union Minister of Home Affairs (MHA) decided to resolve the issues of all the temporary workers of J&K and sought lists of workers engaged by the previous Government who couldn’t be regularized despite budgetary provision. And it now becomes moral duty of the Central as well as Union Territory Governments to take sympathetic view of workers, he added.
“Union Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Dr Jitendra Singh had also taken up the issue of over one lakh workers with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and suggested certain roadmaps for proper utilization of their services in the Government departments,” he said.
Mr Sharma said that they were appointed in the School Education Department after following the proper procedure. “We are deprived of our right as we have given our precious years of life to the School Education Department. We worked in the Education Department sincerely and honesty in order to promote the education system and have given the quality education,” he added and appealed the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to personally intervene in the matter and continue/regularize their services, so that the aggrieved Contractual Lecturers may not suffer any more.
