JAMMU, Apr 12: Contractors of Public Works (R&B) Department today held a protest demonstration against implementation of SRO 122 of 1992 in renewal of their registration.
The protesting contractors also announced to boycott participation in tenders invited by the PWD(R&B) till the Rule 122 of 1992 is revoked or deferred and registration is renewed as per the existing system enforce.
The protest was held under the banner of Contractors Association PW(R&B) Department at Nirman Bhawan. They protesting contractors lodged protest against the Principal Secretary’s order of implementing SRO 122 of 1992 after 30 years.
The demonstration was also addressed by the Association President Sham Singh Jamwal, general secretary Vinod Kohli and others, who announced to continue the protest till the controversial order is revoked.
The Association had yesterday submitted memorandum to the Chief Engineer PW(R&B) Department Jammu and apprised him of the resentment of Contractors regarding newly added clause in renewal of their registration for the financial year 2022-23.
As per SRO-122 of 1992, a number of additional NOCs and certificates like CID verification are required for renewal of the registration while April 30 is last date for the same.
