Contract system for transportation of ration abolished

KISHTWAR, July 9: District Administration Kishtwar today abolished contract system followed by Department of Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs for transportation of food grains (Ration) in view of complaints about misuse of funds.
District Development Commissioner, Angrez Singh Rana issued an order according to which all the tender notices issued by the AD, FCS and CA ,Kishtwar shall be deemed to be cancelled ab-initio. It further maintains that consequent upon this order, the contract system used for carriage of food grains etc. by the FCS&CA Department is strictly banned henceforth.
Meanwhile, the DDC directed AD, FCS &CA to lift food grains/ration meant for remote areas of the district lacking road connectivity directly through Ponnies walas/Mule/horse owners as per the rate fixed by office vide order no. 422-23/DCK/Food dated 11-02-2017 which came into effect from 01-04-2017 i.e Rs 05/- per Quintal/Km for Mechanical Transport and Rs 27 per quintal/Km by ponnies.
