The State Assembly elections are going to be held in the entire State. The election fever is high. Many small and big leaders have jumped into the fray. It is often seen that many prominent leaders contest the election from two different Assembly seats in order to ensure their victory from either of the seat. But most commonly these prominent leaders remain successful in winning both the seats. As a result of this, they have to resign from one of the Assembly seats and that seat becomes vacant. Therefore bye elections become necessary which results in wastage of large sum of public money. A public opinion should be created in this regard and electoral reforms should be brought. Election Commission of India should make laws that will enable a candidate to contest election only from one Assembly seat.
