Constitution of Board for Hindu shrines of Kashmir demanded

JAMMU, Mar 29: Migrant Cell, Pradesh Congress Committee held a meeting here, today under the leadership of its chairman, Hira Lal Pandita in which the problems faced by the displaced people from Valley were discussed.
The meeting took the Government to task for its failure in constituting a Board for protection of Hindu religious places in Valley which is the major demand of the community. The meeting said that in view of the present condition of the Hindu religious places in Valley which lack proper management and care since the mass exodus of the Pandits, the constitution of Board for their management and upkeep has become imperative.
Pandita also has made an appeal to senior PCC leaders including party State chief, G A Mir to extend support to the demand as the Shrines in Kashmir are the great cultural monuments. He also made appeal to other political parties, social and religious organizations to support the demand.
General secretary of the Cell, Chuni Lal Kandi expressed concern over non availability of voter lists of Kandi Kupwara of Baramulla Lok Sabha Constituency in Election Office which is a cause of concern for migrants of the area.
M N Pandita vice president of the Cell, Mrs Kiran general secretary, Ghulam Qadir its convener, Shadi Lal co convener, Amrita Bhat secretary, A K Raina, Raj Kumar Tickoo, Raj Nath Dhar, Chaman Lal, Kashi Nath Bhat, R K Bhat and others attended the meeting.
