Conservation of Jammu Lakes

Sir,
The stepmother by treatment meted to the lakes of the Jammu region is an eye opener for those who in govt claim equal treatment to all the regions of the state. The Lakes and Waterways Development Authority(LAWDA) created by the Govt in the year 1997 in order to look after, conserve and manage the water bodies and waterways of our state  has kept only Dal and Nageen lakes within its ambit while the lakes of Jammu namely Mansar, Sruinsar and Dalsar have been kept out of its ambit. The result of this lackluster and clandestine approach has blocked the Central assistance to these lakes while huge financial assistance has been sanctioned for Kashmir lakes under the ambit of LAWDA. We are not against the development of Kashmir lakes but to promote one’s particular region at the cost of other region is against the concept of equality and thus generates regionalism and hatred. These discriminatory revelations depicts a bizarre story  of neglect on the part of policy makers, irresponsible attitude of the State Govt and perhaps indefensible covetousness of people running the institutions which directly affect the tourism industry of Jammu.
Today, the condition of these lakes is disappointing and they would turn into a cesspool if timely action is not taken. The MLA Ramnagar has vigorously and vociferously projected this discriminately LAWDA before Prime Minister who in reply directed our Govt to look into the matter but no action has been taken till date. Thus our Govt should immediately amend LAWDA by bringing Jammu lakes and if any in Ladakh under its purview.
Yours etc….
