Congress workers hold protest

JAMMU, May 18: As nationwide protest of the Congress party to observe the day as “Save Democracy Day”, JKPCC held a protest at Shahidi Chowk here.
The protest was led by former Minister and Vice President JKPCC Raman Bhalla and other senior functionaries of PCC, DCC and leaders of frontal organizations including Youth Congress, NSUI, Mahila Congress, INTUC and Congress Seva Dal.
Hundreds of Congress workers wearing black badges and holding play cards in their hands raised slogans during the protest.

Raman Bhalla said that Governor of Karnatka who has colluded with BJP subverted the democracy by inviting BJP leader to take the oath of secrecy, whereas the Congress and JD(S) had already submitted the list of MLAs which were more than the required number to form the Government.
Bhalla said that Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala who was former Finance Minister of BJP in Gujarat has favoured BJP by inviting Yeddyurappa to be sworn in as Chief Minister, which is a violation of the Constitution and murder of democracy.
“The BJP and Governor of Karnataka have murdered democracy and used the law for their personal gains. They will definitely be punished for this by the people of Karnataka. The truth shall triumph,” said Bhalla.
Among others present were Kanta Bhan, Ravinder Sharma, Rajnish Sharma, Yogesh Sawhney, Prof Garu Ram Bhagat, Manmohan Singh, Namrata Sharma, YV Sharma, KL Gupta, Shashi Sharma, Neeraj Gupta, etc.
