JAMMU, Nov 27: On 28th death anniversary of former Minister Girdhari Lal Dogra, Congress party paid rich tributes to the late leader, who remained Finance Minister of Jammu and Kashmir for more than two decades.
Paying rich tributes to Late Girdhari Lal Dogra, PCC chief G A Mir has said that the contributions of the former for upliftment of poor and down trodden section of the State would always continue to inspire the generations, ahead.
Late Dogra served the people to the best of his ability and his contribution about strengthening people in all the three regions of the State reflects the manifestation of his pro people policies and the concern about the overall development of the State, the PCC chief said and added that Dogra’s approach and contribution about well being of the people of the State would continue to inspire the coming generations.
On this occasion, PCC chief also exhorted the party leaders and workers to take a cue from the leadership qualities of Late G L Dogra and remain steadfast in serving the masses.
At Congress HQ Shaheedi Chowk, Jammu, senior leaders of the party paid rich tributes to Girdhari Lal Dogra, in a function organized by DCC Jammu Urban, which was presided over by Anil Chopra and attended by Gurmukh Singh, Ravinder Sharma, Kanta Bhan, Manmohan Singh, Girdhari Lal Chalotra, Neeraj Gupta, Satish Sharma and others.
The PCC leaders said that best tributes to Late Dogra would be to strengthen the values and ideology followed by him through out his life. They described Late Dogra a true Gandhian having staunch belief in secularism, socialism and democracy, who worked for the welfare of poor and weaker sections of the society.
In Kathua, DCC president Subash Chander Gupta along with his supporters paid rich tributes to Girdhari Lal Dogra and recalled the services of the late leader. A large number of people were present next to the statue of G L Dora at Hiranagar Morh to pay homage to the veteran Congress leader, known for his honesty, simplicity and dedication for his service to the poor and downtrodden.
