Congress demands 27 pc reservation for OBCs

JAMMU, Jan 6: Other Backward Classes (OBC) Department of Pradesh Congress Committee has claimed that poor and underprivileged class of OBCs is still waiting for their legal and Constitutional rights even after four months of revocation of Article 370 and formation of J&K Union Territory (UT).
In a meeting J&K Chairman of the OBC Department, Suresh Kumar Dogra said that MoS in PMO, Dr. Jitendra Singh recently stated that all Central laws including OBC reservation have come in effect in J&K with much force than other States and UTs.
“All claims of ruling BJP stood false as the OBC peoples of J&K are still on the same pattern of 2 per cent reservation,” Dogra said adding that the Government should stop befooling OBC peoples of J&K.
He demanded implementation of Mandal Commission Report which recommends 27 per cent reservation in J&K like other States and UTs.
Parshotam Mehra, Abhishek Kumar, Gurpreet Gopi, Vijay Verma, Bhushan Kumar, Showkat Ali, Parbodh Jasyal, Raj Kumar Mehra, Ajay Mehra, Sunny Kashyap, Ravi Mehra, Bittu Verma, Haji Abdullah, Surinder Sodhi and others were also present in the meeting.
