JAMMU, Nov 24: Expressing confidence in the leadership of senior Congress leader and former Chief Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Chairman, OBC Cell of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) and executed member of JKPCC, Madan Lal Kashyap today said that only Congress Party can fulfill the grievances and demands of OBC community.
He was speaking in a meeting of backward communities held today at Muthi area of city outskirts. During the meeting, he explained in detail the difficulties and problems being face by OBC communities. He said that OBCs are deliberately ignored and exploited in all the fields.
Kashyap said that present State Government has announced enhancement of 2% reservation for OBC communities prior to election. But this meager enhancement is not acceptable to our communities, he added and asserted to enhance at least 10% reservation.
Alleging that Azad has assured at least 10% reservation for OBC communities in J&K, he appealed all voters of OBC communities to vote and support Congress Party candidates in the elections to achieve the desired goal.
Behari Sagoch, ex-chairman of Kashyap Jagriti Mission, J&K, Prof BL Bhardwaj, Sham Lal Chalgotra and many others were present in the meeting.
