SAMBA, Oct 30: Congress activists today held a massive protest demonstration over the failure of the Government to safeguard the interests of reserved category people in the State.
The protest demonstration led by former Minister Manjeet Singh was held opposite Sub District Magistrate (SDM) office in Vijaypur, to lodge protest over the failure of the Government to defend the Reservation Act in the court. The protesters carrying placards shouted anti-Government slogans.
Addressing the gathering, Manjeet Singh, said that State and Central Governments have failed to defend the Reservation Act in the court of law depriving the reserved categories of SCs, STs and other down trodden of promotional benefits.
He asserted that Congress will not tolerate it and would fight back for due rights of reserved categories.
