JAMMU, Mar 30: National Panthers Party (NPP) chief patron and party candidate from Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha seat, Prof Bhim Singh has alleged that Congress with the support of National Conference was all set to rig elections.
Talking to media-persons here today, Prof Singh said Congress was trying to repeat the shameful act of rigging like in 1988, with the active support and cooperation of NC. The NPP leader alleged that Congress has been the mother of corruption as they had never spared to dodge the electoral system. Both the coalition partners are master in rigging polls and draw results in their favour.
Prof Singh recalled that in 1988, he had won by 32000 votes but was declared defeated. The then top national leaders including Atal Behari Vajpayee, H N Bahuguna, N T Rama Rao and Vijay Malhotra had come out for his support. He pointed out that this is the only reason that due to rigging of elections in Kashmir and other parts of Jammu region, militancy spread here.
Due to the massacre of democracy by the NC and Congress, the militancy started in the State. He alleged that both the coalition partners are responsible for militancy and corruption in the State.
Prof Bhim Singh also demanded immediate removal of ARO Reasi (DC) for favouring Congress and National Conference in the election campaign. He alleged that ARO was harassing the NPP activists and indirectly supporting Congress as a local ruling Minister was his relative. The NPP leader said that he has forward a complaint of ARO Reasi before the Election Commission of India, seeking his removal.
